Massage and in-person doula support services are performed in intimate settings where social distancing is not possible. See what protocols are in place to mitigate risk.

PANDEMIC POLICIES - MASSAGE THERAPY

I have modified my cancellation policy to offer greater flexibility to clients. I hope this will alleviate any stress and hesitation you have about an upcoming appointment. If you need to reschedule for whatever reason, especially if you are not feeling well, I understand and request for you to please contact me as soon as possible to reschedule. Massage/bodywork is not appropriate care for infectious or contagious illness. Please cancel your appointment as soon as you are aware of an infectious or contagious condition. To further support you, no cancellation fees/penalties will be applied for clients cancelling due to illness or suspected contact with a covid-positive person.

All clients must complete a detailed COVID-19 screening questionnaire prior to every session. New clients must also complete a generalized health history questionnaire.

I, along with each client, will wear a mask during the entire session. Please have your mask in place upon answering the door. Clients will provide their own mask. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you. The mask may be removed when lying face-down, as I will have additional barriers/protection in place to contain droplets in this position. Masks must be replaced before the conclusion of the treatment and worn throughout the duration of time your therapist is in the home. My mask will be a KN95 surgical respirator, and I will also be wearing a face shield.

Due to a recent surge in positive cases, the Federal and State Massage Therapy Board discourages mobile massage appointments at this time. I hope to resume mobile sessions when it is safe to do so. In the meantime, my clinic space is Chesterton has large rooms with HEPA air filters.

Extra time has been allocated between clients for sanitizing surfaces using an EPA approved disinfectant, including but not limited to: door knobs, light switches, face cradle and arm rest, massage table, bolsters, chair, flat surfaces, etc. I will be changing garments between clients.

Contact-free payment is encouraged, although cash and check is also accepted. I accept PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, and Square online payments.

Hand sanitizer will be provided for each client and therapist to use upon entering and leaving the treatment room (must be applied/rubbed-in for 20+ seconds).

The CDC suggests that COVID-19 infected respiratory droplets can be dispersed when people talk. For this reason, talking is limited to communication about pressure, warmth, and comfort while in the enclosed space of the session room.

Facial massage, cupping, and heat applications are currently prohibited.

Any clients who begin experiencing covid-related symptoms are asked to please contact me immediately, so that I can self-quarantine and notify any other individuals that may need to quarantine themselves for safety.
PANDEMIC POLICIES - DOULA SUPPORT

Clients may opt for video conferencing for any of our prenatal / postpartum meetings, as desired.

I, along with each client, will wear a mask for the duration of all in-person prenatal and postpartum meetings. Please have your mask in place upon answering the door. Clients will provide their own mask. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you. My mask will be a N95 surgical respirator, and I may also wear a face shield if social distancing cannot be maintained during support visits.

We will discuss comfort levels for doula PPE utilization during labor. I do not expect laboring clients to wear a mask, and will therefore be self-quarantining for 14 days after any birth that I attend.

Hand sanitizer / washing will be utilized by the doula immediately upon entering and leaving your home and frequently throughout hands-on labor support.
