A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and educational support to individual(s) who are expecting, experiencing labor, or have recently given birth. My intention is to help families have a safe, memorable, and empowering birthing experience.

Motherhood

Prenatal visits will include conversations regarding preferences for your birth experience, hands-on practice of labor positions and comfort measures, and conversations about postpartum expectations and ways you can prepare.  Meetings can be as simple as friendly conversation, or as complex as a mini childbirth education class. We may watch birthing videos, we may read books, we may focus on practicing breathing or bodywork techniques.  My goal is to help you, your partner, and/or anyone else that will be present who will be present to feel confident and comfortable when your birthing time begins.

Hands-On Partner Support Instruction

This offering is for expecting mothers and whoever will be attending their birth with them.  This is an instructional session to be held within the comfort of your own home.  We will go over hands-on comfort techniques to be utilized during early and active labor.  Topics covered will include massage techniques, acupressure and reflexology, counter pressure, position options, aromatherapy, hot/cold therapy, and more. We will also discuss self-care and comfort options for pregnancy. Please allot roughly ninety minutes for this visit.  Contact Kari for more information or to schedule.

Cost: $50 per couple/birth team

Comfort Measures for Pregnancy & Labor Workshop

This offering is for expecting mothers and whoever will be attending their birth with them.  This hands-on class will cover all of the topics described in the Hands-On Partner Support Instruction in a group setting.  Please allot roughly two hours for this visit.  Contact Kari for more information or to schedule.
